I had coveted the 10 stop, seemingly black filter for over a year at this point and I finally had an excuse to buy one. A partial solar eclipse was scheduled to pass directly over Lake Tahoe, and I was determined to prepare to photograph the sun itself! This photo was taken the evening after I had first received my 16 stop filter in the mail, in preparation for the event. I achieved the misty water effect through the use of a Marumi ND-100000 filter, made for photographing solar eclipses.
